EGG RUN 2012
Another Roaring Success!Moorlanders MCC held our 14th Easter Egg Run this week, in association with Widows Sons Kernow, and we were amazed at the response from the local biking community. Despite inclement weather, over 500 bikers rolled onto Davidstow Airfield in the early hours of Easter Sunday.
The Egg Run raises money for local children’s charities – Action for Children, Little Harbour (CHSW), the ARB special needs units of Camelford and St Stephens, Launceston primary schools and Bowden Derra care home.
‘With all that’s going on in the economy, we never expected to get close to what we raised last year – yet we knew the charities would need it even more,’ said Richard Hallett, Vice Chairman of Moorlanders MCC, ‘but we’re looking set to reach £4,500 and beat it! It’s a true testament to the big hearted nature of bikers.’
The Egg Run took the motorbikes on a 100 mile, safely marshalled tour around north and south east
‘Make sure you put 31st March 2013 in your diary,’ Richard Hallett added, ‘cause we’ll be back next Easter Sunday for an even better Egg Run! And if you want to be part of that, come along to one of our meetings at the King’s Head, Five Lanes, Altarnun.’
