| The Moorlanders MCC Egg
Run goes from strength to strength. The 2011 event held, as usual, on Easter Sunday was the 13th Run organised and marked the 10th anniversary of the Moorlanders MCC Club . The purpose of the event is to distribute Easter Eggs to people in care in the local community, and to raise much needed funds for children’s charities in In return for the entry charge and Easter Eggs donated, the participating riders received a souvenir key ring and enjoyed a marshalled tour of our local patch. The route is not made public before the event, but marshalled at every road junction or major course deviation. Riders were also given a meal voucher for a free bar-b-que at the end event, hosted by Bowden Derra care home. Around 500 bikers made their way to Davidstow Airfield for a 10 am start, from where our route took us via Wadebridge, down to St Austell to the Par based Action for Children for a refreshment break and to give Easter Eggs to children in their care. The Run restarted, heading via Minions to Bowden Derra Park, where more Easter Eggs were handed out. As it was our 10th Anniversary as a Club, we organised a proper end event with Bowden Derra. There was ample parking for bikes, and visiting spectators, a large grass area for the trade stands and the band, Blue Slate. We held a raffle on the day, and presented Awards for the Oldest Bike, Prettiest Bike, Best Club Turnout, Best Bike, Furthest Travelled and Best Rat Bike. Well done to the winners! ![]() |
